I hereby declare the Tales of Sin and Virtue Challenge officially…closed.

Many thanks to everyone who took part, whether you read, wrote, reviewed, or did all three. Those of you who wrote produced some really great fics, those of you who reviewed made the writer's day a little brighter, and those of you who read hopefully found something to tickle your fancy.

If you're still catching up,

Acceptance by rarity The question is: will she accept him or hate him?

Curiosity by jdbracknell Remus has always been curious about Lily Evans, but kept his distance. Now, he wants to do nothing of the sort. RL/LE

Cursing The Moon by hiddenfantasy Lily has been unfaithful and Remus decides its time to confront her.

Even More by gilpin25 Lily Evans is sixteen and a half years old and her sensible head easily rules her heart. But she knows she's missing out on something vital... RL/LE sixth year; from Lily's POV.

In The End by jdbracknell Sirius knows. Remus knows that he knows, but he hasn't quite decided how to handle it yet. RL/LE

Masquerade by lionille A good friend is one who hears what you don't say. (L/J, R/S)

Never Spoken, Never Forgotten by lavinialavender Obstacles are finally out of the way, and the inevitable happens. Remus/Lily

Nothing But Fighting by bratanimus Remus/Lily, set during their sixth year at Hogwarts. Merlin, why hadn’t James told him how much fun fighting with Lily was?

The Potion by kerrymdb She just needed to drink the potion and it would be all over.

The Rat by jdbracknell Peter had hoped to be some woodland creature - a boar or fox, perhaps, but the more he thinks about it, the more a rat has infinite possibilities.

The Scientific Method by bratanimus Lily/Remus, Sirius, Lily POV. Sixth-year Lily doesn’t know what to do with her libido, which seems to be turning her into a monster. Scientific method. Chaos theory. Primitive urges mixed with firewhiskey. And choices disguised as fate.

Seeds of Suspicion by shimotsuki What should have been a cozy evening in Godric's Hollow becomes a first step down the path to tragedy.

Starting Over by gilpin25 When everyone starts acting strangely, the one person who can usually be relied upon to restore calm is nowhere to be found... Remus and Lily in the aftermath of a famous incident.

The Way Things Were by jdbracknell After the infamous prank on Snape, Remus learns that the road to forgiveness is paved with alcohol, fist-fights, and giving in to his instincts.

To Know Her by phoenixfyre13 How long had he been searching? And why hadn’t he known before now? Remus sees through different eyes something that will change his world.

What Lonely Is by phoenixphyre13 ( Part 2 ) Remus always felt as if he was an outsider, looking in on the happiness of others. What happens when that chance for happiness presents itself?

Wrath by ravnclw_lioness He hated Sirius Black.

Our next challenge is going to be Tales of Whiskey and Regret, which we've pencilled in for June, so watch out for details, and in the meantime, we'll be hosting a free day, where you'll be able to showcase your existing fics to redandthewolf members.

We really hope you've had as good a time participating in this challenge as we have. Any comments or suggestions for what you'd like to see from future challenges or ideas for community events, please comment here or drop one of us a line.

Warm and fuzzies,

jdbracknell and bratanimus

Thanks for the fun challenge! I'm definitely still in the 'catching up' category. By the way, my user name is spelled lionille, with two 'i's, which I only mention because the other spelling goes to someone else's LJ. Thanks! :D

Oops. Me + early mornings = bleary eyes + typos. Sorry! I've fixed it now.

Glad you had fun. We're already talking prompts for the next one, we had a such a good time pinning down plotbunnies for this one ;).

Excellent prompts and I think I'm a convert. Not least, because you know I won't be able to resist whiskey, regret and the prospect of more angst. ;)

Warm and fuzzies back to the Mods, along with thanks for organising. :)

You know, you've all been almost disappointingly well-behaved and easy to mod ;).

We look forward to your whiskey-fuelled return ;).

Oh. Wait. Were we supposed to sin too? I thought it was just Remus and Lily.

Well, darn.

I just assumed you'd all chosen virtue and I was the only one up for a spot of light sinning ;).

Makes note for next time that misbehaving is required, for which the whiskey will be helpful... ;)

I think I'm a convert.

YAAAAAYYYYYY!!! :D Welcome to the fold, where humor, angst, UST, and sometimes RST abound. Enjoy yourself. :D

*does a happy dance*

It's certainly made me want to write more Marauder stuff. All these sexy Sirius' and fascinating Peter's around... ;)
May. 3rd, 2007 02:28 pm (UTC)
I know it! I find more and more that I simply adore writing Sirius. ;)
May. 3rd, 2007 02:35 pm (UTC)
You're going to have to stop using that icon, especially when we're discussing the Marauders. It cracks me up far too much. LOL.
May. 3rd, 2007 03:02 pm (UTC)
How about this one, then? Padfoot, erm, puppy love? ;)
May. 4th, 2007 01:41 pm (UTC)
LOL - I think I prefer the other one, no offence!

Haven't you got one with Suspense on it and some sort of a giant octopus appearing ... I was thinking that was kind of appropriate for the Marauders and The Prank/Peter's betrayal, but if I've completely imagined that I've obviously been drinking your next challenge whiskey somewhat ahead of time! ;)
May. 4th, 2007 01:54 pm (UTC)
This one?
May. 4th, 2007 02:04 pm (UTC)
That's it! I do like that one - makes me think of Snape opening the door to the Shrieking Shack and the monster is lurking...

Okay, I'm off for a lie down now. And to consider whether I can justify a paid account simply because everyone's got more and better icons than I have. ;)
May. 4th, 2007 02:25 pm (UTC)
I can heartily recommend a paid account, with the "extra icons" options. I've got 60 (out of 100) and there still aren't enough. ;)

I really need to get PhotoShop, because all I can do is snag other people's icons (giving credit, of course).

Have a nice nap! :D

Let me add my thanks as well: to the mods for providing this inspired venue and challenge; to the authors for writing such an impressive collection of stories (and I see I've got some new ones to look forward to reading); to the reviewers for weighing in.
May. 3rd, 2007 11:23 am (UTC)
Thank you I'm so glad you're here! Looking forward to the our first "free day" and the next challenge. :D

My thanks to the Mods too.

I'm still not totally sold on Remus/Lily as a ship, but all the same, I've really enjoyed reading all the entries for this challenge. The quality of writing has been consistantly high.

Well done to you all!

Thanks! I'm really glad you're enjoying the community! :D

A question for the mods. The posting-is-open post says this:

we'd appreciate it if you wouldn't actually post the stories anywhere other than LJ (like www.fanfiction.net) until after the challenge is over (April 30)

So, just to make sure, is it okay to submit our stories elsewhere, i.e. PhoenixSong in my case, now that it's May? Or would you rather have us wait a bit longer? -- which would be fine with me, I'm just asking.
May. 5th, 2007 10:32 am (UTC)
Go right ahead! As soon as posting is closed you can post elsewhere. :D

Thanks so much to the Mods for putting together such a great fic challenge! I had a really fabulous time writing, and stretching myself beyond my little R/T cozy place. :)

Looking forward to the next challenge already! Whiskey and Regret...hmmm, I won't be able to stay away. ;)
May. 5th, 2007 10:35 am (UTC)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it; I certainly enjoyed your fics. :D

Yeah, whiskey and regret. I feel some angst coming on (in my writing, at least -- hmm, big surprise ...)! ;)
